Colgate University careers

Colgate is small on purpose: 3,143 students, 57 majors, and more than 200 student clubs, in a village in the center of New York State. The scale is the argument the university makes about itself, since it lets professors know and mentor students directly and keeps classes small enough that students learn from each other. It competes at the top level of college athletics anyway, and the scale argument has numbers under it: 354 full-time faculty, an 8-to-1 student-faculty ratio, and an average class of 17.
